How does Oxygen Hyperbaric Therapy Work

Our soft hyperbaric chamber is capable of going up to 1.3 atmospheres of pressure.  This is simply 33% more pressure than what we experience at sea level. This high pressure, combined with 100% high flow oxygen delivered to the patient via a face mask, is able to deliver powerful healing results. Forcing oxygen deep into tissues has a number benefits which include:

With the help of the therapist, the patient is placed sitting or lying into the hyperbaric pod. Once their face mask is correctly placed, the patient is zipped up and air is pumped into the pod to get to the desired pressure. Once that pressure is achieved, a valve (similar to a pressure cooker’s valve) ensures that the correct pressure is maintained. You will hear a hissing sound from this valve, that’s how you know its working. It normally takes about 5 minutes to pressurize, the treatment time is about 1 hour long, and decompression usually takes about 5-10 minutes. The cost of the therapy is $350, and we usually recommend 1-2 times per week for a month or two, depending on the severity of the condition treated.
